Leveling Up Our Metal Finishing Services with Nadcap Accreditation on All Our Chemical Processes
The Global Metal Finishing team is thrilled to share a significant achievement in our commitment to quality and excellence. We successfully added chemical conversion and stainless steel passivation to our Nadcap accreditation!
For the past three years, GMF has held Nadcap accreditation for our anodizing and hardcoat processes. Now, with the addition of chemical conversion and passivation, we’re proud to declare that we are officially Nadcap accredited for all of our chemical processes!
This achievement has been multiple years in the making, the result of an overhaul of our processes and a rigorous three-month audit. The fruits of our labor, comprehensive Nadcap accreditation, is a testament to our dedication to maintaining the industry’s highest standards.
Our Journey to Accreditation
Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is administered by the Performance Review Institute (PRI). PRI ensures that companies like ours meet the highest standards of chemical processing control. Earning Nadcap accreditation is a rigorous, ongoing process that demands a high level of commitment, precision, and dedication to quality.
Achieving this accreditation is no small feat – it took years of preparation, dedication, and hard work to reach this point. We had to build the necessary infrastructure, including specialized testing equipment, to ensure our processes met the rigorous criteria required for both chemical conversion and passivation.
Why Nadcap Matters to the GMF Team
Nadcap accreditation is a testament to our commitment to quality and integrity. It means that when we say we’re doing something to a specific standard, we are genuinely following through. This accreditation isn’t just a box we can check off – it’s a reflection of our continuous dedication to adhering to the highest possible standards.
This level of accreditation is crucial because it goes beyond the standard quality certifications like AS9100. While AS9100 certification confirms that we have the necessary quality systems, processes, and structure in place, Nadcap digs even deeper. It scrutinizes our chemical processes, suppliers, and data management at a granular level, ensuring that every aspect of our operations is under strict control.
Why Nadcap Matters to Our Customers
For our customers, this accreditation means they can trust that their parts are being processed with the utmost care and precision. Even when a customer’s job doesn’t require Nadcap-level accreditation, this rigorous standard influences how we handle every project, ensuring consistency and reliability across the board.
However, it’s important to note that Nadcap work requires a rigorous level of reporting that we don’t necessarily apply to every job. Therefore, customers must inform us if their parts need to meet Nadcap standards so we can ensure all necessary documentation and data tracking are in place.
The Future of Chemical Processing Services at Global Metal Finishing
With the addition of chemical conversion and stainless steel passivation to our Nadcap-accredited services, we have significantly expanded our capabilities. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to quality and our dedication to providing our customers with the best possible service. What’s more, it demonstrates the hard work and dedication of our team members, the individuals on the shop floor doing the work to achieve the highest quality finishes. This may not have been possible without buy-in from each member of our team.
Moving forward, the GMF team will continue to uphold the standards set by Nadcap, ensuring that our processes remain at the forefront of our industry. And while our team is still celebrating the accomplishment we’ve been working at for years, we can’t stop ourselves from asking: What will we achieve next?
