What is Chromate Conversion Coating?

Corrosion Resistance:

Global Metal Finishing’s chromate conversion coatings can offer a wide array of benefits to your aluminum based products. Our chromate conversion coatings are ideal for applications that require enhanced corrosion resistance without sacrificing electrical conductivity.

Primer for Paint:

Many of our customers utilize our chromate conversion coatings as pre-treatment for painted products. Our chromate conversion process forms a chemically bonded, corrosion resistant, and self-healing layer that excels at binding paint to the surface of your product.

Dual Process: Anodizing and Chromate Conversion:

Through the implementation of our precision masking techniques, Global Metal Finishing is capable of applying both the processes of chromate conversion and anodizing or hard anodizing for applications that require maximum protection while still requiring electrical conductivity.

Environmental Compliance:

Global Metal Finishing is prepared to meet the specifications of your application. We offer both ROHS compliant hex-free (Type II) chromate conversion coatings in addition to standard hexavalent (Type I) chromate conversion coatings.

Why choose Chromate Conversion Coating?

  • Strong corrosion protection
  • Conductive surface
